You do get briefed on the legalities and including your conduct as well as the relevant sections of the Geneva convention, when kills are registered you also undergo a debrief. It is very difficult for lawyers to determine war crimes let alone the average soldier, it is easier to simply follow orders as your CO is hardly likely to give you an illegal one knowingly. Everyone plays dumb.

And you think that one act of violence, a few hours of retaliation caused by years of resentment, justifies the following:

We can trade photos of horrific incidents all day long.
It only serves to perpetuate the violence and establish the enmity into the next generation.
We should be seeking peace and security not ramping up the hatred, which you are perpetuating and intensifying.

That peace and security can only happen when Israel stops its cycle of violence against Palestinians especially, and others.
