Hi all,

I’ve put up a small fence in the garden and the last part is to attach the gate hinges then the gate.

Realised when I offered up the hinge that one of the horizontal rails is in the way.

Am I best to chop a little bit of the horizontal rail out so the hinge will attach?

I’d rather not lower the horizontal rail.

Why you complicating it..
Cut the blue bit off horizontal.
Maybe round it off nicely.

This is the best option.

It may be difficult to get a saw in there, so a multi tool if you have one. If not, drill a number of small holes and then use a wood chisel to cut the rail.
