Which thermostatic shower?

Hi all

Some of you may recall my conundrum trying to install a 3rd electric shower. Well to cut a long story short, I can't.

My feed runs off the combi and the mains tank via a pump. I think a standard mixer shower may struggle to maintain tempreture given the hot feeds multiple outlets and the cold is constant. So maybe a digital thermostatic shower? Prob is i have never used one, can anyone give me some pointers for good ones please.

Unfortunately it will always be a struggle to run any mains shower, thermostatic or otherwise, from a combi if other hot outlets (or even cold, mains dependent) are being used in a busy household, at the same time, it's just the nature of combi boilers.

They can work but it has to be managed well so nothing really gets used when the shower is on or some clever flow limiting is employed.

Combis are mainly for one outlet at a time. Some will do 2 but the drop in flow rate is noticeable.

Either, just whatever you prefer. They work the same way, water wise.

But I thought the digital is better given my set up? Of course they are 3 times more expensive!

They both have the same internals, one you set by feel, the other displays the set temperature. Not much difference to them.

Digital showers are thermostatic but most tend to be smart these days, controllable remotely etc. Digital showers also have a electronic controller (brain) that monitors and adjusts the temperature using thermocouples as against a wax or other type of mechanical/ bi-metal sensor that typically adjusts a standard (non powered) thermostatic shower.

Digital/smart showers tend to be faster to react that mechanically controlled thermo showers.
