Tyre valve stem leak

If only there was a mechanic/mot tester on here who is highly skilled
Or even one that spent the last 25 years of his working life training students in (amongst other things) tyre repair and replacement to BS AU159 and City and Guild standards in an accredited City and Guilds assessment centre…..

Those kids in the photo know more about tyre repair and replacement than the person that started this thread will ever know.

Here was another spent that I thought money wasted. But, turned out perfect for this project. These are screwfix clamps with unsatisfactorily shallow 80mm throat. These can be used for clamping on the tyre to position the bead at the opposite end of levering. Other people would stand on the tyre to control the bead position. I don't need to. I can work comfortably with the tyre on a portable workbench. A clamp can also be used for opening a gap on the lever end to allow insertion of a tyre iron without force.

This project is getting expensive, but super cheap if it succeeds.

There’s a very easy way to position the bead into the well of the rim. I’m not telling you though, find out for yourself but it is very, very easy and guess what, it’s not even needed to do what the OP needs to do if doing it himself. <snigger>

Really? Threads been going 4 days with no solution as yet. Keep going son, you’ll get to ten pages eventually and we still won’t be seeing any results.

I don't know, but I suspect they used the wrong valve stem size for my wheels or something.

I struggled for more than an hour with the second bead without success.

Some call it a "sealer". I see it as a filler that aids sealing by filling contact surface imperfections.

Can I not balance it by careful driving?

You don't need to tell me. I already have a very easy way.

As I wouldn't give you the steam from my pizz for your labour, you're correct : all of your faffing will work out "super cheap" (y)
If this thread frustrates you then stop reading it. No need to work up a steam. No faffing where I am. Mostly waiting. I have time. Looks like you don't.

They can't stop reading and replying, they're obsessed with trolling you even when they have nothing useful to add. Especially Mottie.
