I suspect water usage will increase massively until next Friday

Around 3 billion litres lost PER DAY in England through leaking pipes.
Around 454 million litres lost PER DAY in Scotland through leaking pipes.

Add in significant population increases , with no additional reservoirs built and we are left with water shortages.

This isn’t rocket science or complicated maths

I saw a thing on the news last night re a new build housing estate in the UK where the water is supplied not by mains but by a daily water delivery. There had been supply chain delays meaning residents were running out of water by the early evening.

I didn't even realise this was a thing re housing estates not being connected to mains. How far off the beaten track they were I don't know but it wasn't just a few houses, it was an estate.

Our water supplier Anglia water hosepipe ban starting at 1.01am
Maybe needed in East Anglia but we are in north Notts and all water in this area is from boreholes many hundreds of meters into a aquifer.
Apparently takes years for rainwater to get there.
Ive checked out exemptions included are newly planted trees shrubs and newly seeded lawns. Also fruit and veg for your own consumption if you can't manage with a watering can!

Can't find any reference to that online...
