2 gang 2 way switch trouble

Hello thanks all, yes floor 2 switch was working fine before and I’m certain all the other wires are back where they started, it’s just the two loose reds but I’ve tried them in the L1s in different combinations but nothing works. Obviously the circuit is being broken to floor 2 light when middle floor switch is off,

Middle floor? How many switches operate floor 2 light?

so swopping COM and L1 wires seems to be only option? Just not sure how/why as I’m always careful checking/arranging cables when removing a face plate and it’s the first time I’ve ever had any issues. I’ve obviously done something wrong this time

Ah, my mistake. In that case have you tried black in the common?

I haven’t tried that yet although it was definitely a red in there when I took it off, but at this point happy to give it a try. Will have another look tomorrow and update how I get on. Thanks for your help

Middle floor? How many switches operate floor 2 light?

The left switch on this middle floor faceplate operates floor 2 upstairs and there’s a single switch up on floor 2 which also operates that light

As a test: With the power off - Try putting all 3 wires for that floor 2 switch into one terminal, in other words connect all 3 together, with the power on operating the other floor 2 switch SHOULD make the light stay on regardless of the position, you may notice the light flicker as you operate the other floor 2 switch.

I think I see 5 red wires and more blacks at the back, has anything been disturbed further back?

May have missed this, but if it is thought that the two red strappers have been swapped, have they been changed back?

I think that’s the only combination of red strappers I haven’t tried, will give that a go when back from work later thanks

Do you have a picture of the switch taken before you removed it from the wiring with the 2 loose wires visible also ?
