Does anyone know of a domestic cooker hood that doesn’t contain the actual fan, that would be used with an inline fan a short distance away?
My motivation is to reduce noise. Consider some random standard cooker hood: the Bosch DUL63CC50B extracts 350m³/h at 72dB, with that noise right next to your head while you’re cooking. In comparison, the VENT-AXIA 17106020 inline fan extracts 460m³/hr at only 36dB (at 3m). So a “passive” hood connected to an inline fan would be quieter, right?
I guess what I’m not allowing for is the noise from the air passing through the hood that’s not due to the fan.
In my case the hole through the wall is at ceiling level about 1m to the right of the cooker, and I could mount a fan there; of course this doesn’t make much sense if your hole in the wall is nearer the cooker.
