They should make it mandatory that there is no early release/release for good behaviour for those charged with killing or seriously injuring emergency service workers in their line of duty - police, fire and ambulance service workers.

Fair point. But then those other victims of of loved ones murdered will be wondering why their dad, wife, husband or sons' life is not worthy of the same.

It's why we have our laws, governments and release dates.

The Sentencing Act 2026 is Labour's work. They haven't done the proper analysis to work out if the proposals lead to the wrong people being let out or unfair punishment for the financially better off. Its a bit of a mess, like most of the legislation they have come up with.
