We pay 9p per kwh off peak and 30p per kwh during the day.

Diesel is much more convenient, Lena keeps charging hers in the day time and it costs us a fortune. The depreciation on an EV is also a big downside, servicing can be difficult if any problems occur. Stay clear of an EV as far as I am concerned, we have got rid of one for a hybrid, that is the best alternative.
 
New diesel Im thinking the price to fill up will Rocket to the sky. And we cant say that we haven't been warned. And the depreciation could exceed an EV.

Used diesel I've heard so much about problems with Adblue.

Can you see why Im being a Fancy Fanny?

Yes definately, but I have owned two of these and although they wasn't right for me doesnt mean that they are not right for you as everyone has different needs and expectations. For me an EV was the best option when I bought it, I quickly realised that you cannot drive them the same as with a petrol or diesel, they had more limitations than the convenience of petrol or diesel. A hybrid suits us well but we still have an EV to get shut of,. an example is today I have my cherry picker on my drive and Lena wants to charge it up, so she is using the hybrid today as it hasnt got the range left on her EV. This happens a lot unless you charge the bloody thing up each night.

If you include your time, 3 minutes to fill up with diesel, an hour or two to fully charge an EV. Will you leave it there, get a cab home and back again when it’s charged or just stay with it and watch a couple of programmes on your phone?

There is the thought that Used Diesels could pump up in value due to them not being made anymore from 2030.
