I disagree. I work in social housing and am salaried.

Debateable. Some probably try and get away with unqualified people.

The reason I'm suspicious of the profession Is when my boiler went in my. Old house I trusted the industry and he told me it would cost me around £8k to fix as boiler was gone and new boiler needed. Are you absolutely sure???? Doubled down yes maybe you get a good price! In reality the fuse had gone (costs £2 to change). When I told him that the fuse was dead he hung up the phone.

There is good and bad in all walks of life, doesn't mean everyone is out to fleece you.
