It will be fine, just get rid of the foam, have you tried bending the top cover to fit over the top?

Yeah i know to cut the foam away. This was just a quick bend to see what it would be like.
i havent tried to bend the top cover yet. Ill try this when installing it and if it doesnt look right, ill just cut that section off as shown in pics.
Again for anyone else reading, i know its not perfect and therell maybe be one or two wholl point the finger and say "look at that bla bla bla" but with a few cuts, abit of silicone and if it needs a wee screw with a rubber washer here and there like in pic below,
