Shock arrestor question.

Now I have my leak/vibration problem sorted (had the Main Street box replaced), I’m now getting a 'bang' when either the upstairs wc system fills and shuts off suddenly, or I shut off the 1/4 turn cold tap in the kitchen quickly. Pretty sure it’s to do with our water mains being replaced and the pressure is just over 4 bar. The water board employee measured it a few weeks ago and told me the pressure. I was thinking of fitting shock arrestors to the feed to both those lines. Can you jist turn the stop cock down a little first and see if that has an affect.

yeah they look cheap enough. BES.co.uk have some too, dearer.
Check if you have any taps anywhere which rarely get used. They can have a bubble of air behind them which can cause a bounce. Just open them to clear.
Banging pipework often gets better by itself. Air dissolving in the water at a high point, maybe.

Another question. Can I fit a shock arrestor anywhere on the cold water main to absorb the shock when a tap is switched off?
