Windscreen long scratch.

Would this be a MOT failure ? My grandson has a 2006 Ford Fiesta, that has a long scratch or it may possibly be a hairline crack approx 15 mm above the bottom of the screen and possibly extends about 3/4 of the way along at a consistent hight. It is obviously not in eye line of affecting vision.

If it’s not touched by the wiper blades, it won’t count no matter how long the crack is. Even if it is, if it only affects the view of the bonnet, it’s not a fail either.

A new screen is almost certainly covered by his insurance, he’ll have to pay for some of it but it won’t cost him his ncd
