Armoured cable termination

I've got an armoured cable that I am taking to a new garden room. I am going to guess that it is either 6 or 10mm. This should be ample for a few lights and sockets in the garden room.
To keep things tidy, I want to install a small consumer unit in the garden room. This will be mounted on the plasterboard. Am I okay to bring the armoured cable through the 4x2 timber structure and terminate into a box inside here (behind the plaster) I can then have a regular T&E cable going up and behind into the consumer unit.

I wanted to check if there was any need for the armoured cable termination to be accessible, etc.

Why would you want a join and T and E, would it not be better to take the swa direct to the consumer unit, personally I would maybe gland into a metal box flush with the wall then mount the consumer unit over the front of it.

Or terminate into a box behind the consumer unit and go back entry, assuming at the back or side as you wouldnt want to be looking at it.

Thanks for the responses. I will probably have a CU like this:

It will be mounted on the finished platerboard wall. If I gland the SWA on to this, the gland and armoured cable would need to be visible?

I was suggesting that I gland it in a box which is 1 metre below the CU and inside the timber wall structure. I then take a T&E from here and into the CU, back entry.

I think a couple of you are suggesting that this gland box could be behind the CU (inside the timber wall) and I can the bring the cables straight into the back of the CU. Have I got that right and I assume it's okay to bury the glanding of this cable?

Also, would you bother with RCBO's in this situation, or use MCB's?

Thanks for your help.

Terminate into a wiska box on the outside, then connect up with appropriate size T+E. Earth up correctly. If you've not done it before practice on a cut off.

Why do you want this CU? What will the SWA be connected to at the other end? Would it not be sufficient to use an FCU for the lights and to connect the sockets directly?

Anyway: if this is going to be your first attempt at terminating SWA, do you want that inaccessible inside a wall? I wouldn’t; I’d have the SWA come through the wall below the CU and then into a glad on the bottom of the CU.

I've terminated a SWA cable a few times now. I am comfortable with the approach.
I want a CU, because I can then have a separate circuit for internal, external lights, indoor ring and outdoor socket.

I’d have the SWA come through the wall below the CU and then into a glad on the bottom of the CU.
but that would have the gland and SWA cable visible on the finsihed wall?

Like someone previously said, this is putting an unnecessary join in the cable?

...and I suppose if it was glanded into a box behind the CU, it would be accessible by removing the CU. Does that count?
