I’m building a shed at the bottom of my garden and planning to run the armoured cable my self. The shed will be on its MCB - I’m getting a pro to connect it.

My question is:
Does the armoured cable need to go direct from the consumer unit to the shed without any interruption, or can I connect the armoured cable to double insulated cable just before it leaves the house. i.e. grey cable from the MCB to the external wall (inside), then armoured cable to the shed.

Its just armoured cable is much more expensive and harder to run for no apparent gain (inside anyway).

Yes, you can use the normal Twin and earth inside the house and shed. And then fit a metal adaptable box at the 2 exit points (INSIDE) and gland the SWA here.

Be sure to fit rcd protection to the new circuirt for the shed.
