Hi there all, Wednesday, came in from work, no heating.

Checked Boiler and all lights on, radiators still cold, checked boiler again everthing cold no heat and no pilot light.

Switched everthing off and did start up sequence, nothing, no pilot light.

Should I hear gas as Im clicking the piezzo? not a peep.

I twist the grey gas knob, wait three minutes depress and click piezzo like mad again.
Keep grey knob depressed just in case, still no pilot light.

When I put electricity back on and set switch to both water and heating everthing goes on and seem to want to start but no flame therfore no hot boiler.

PS Pressure is fine, any ideas guys?

thanks

PS Phoned British Gas, can't take me on as a customer as we can't get to the customers we already have?

Great, so stuck with no-heat,house freezing, have a calor gas mobile at the moment not ideal in a five bedroom house.

You are pressing the grey knob.
Gas should be coming out of the pilot burner. If not then why not?
Has the gas valve been knocked at the meter?
Is the pilot injector blocked or maybe the burner has a dead critter or 2 in it?
Perhaps the spark isn't getting to the gas as it should.

Your good description restricts the region of your fault from the gas coming in to the property through the gas valve and up to the pilot burner and spark.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look, unfortunately I'm no Heating expert.

After my Coppersmith apprenticeship, I became an accountant!
 Yes , I know.
The need to know how something works or why its broken never goes away
I know someone who can probabaly help me ,however that doesnt get the problem fixed or the spare parts ordered. :?:

Its Friday, so a cold weekend looks to be on the horizon?

Thanks for the sound advice . Slugbabydotcom :)

Can you get in to the pilot area?
If so with the boiler controls turned off press the grey button and listen. Can you hear gas coming through?
Can you light the pilot with a lighter?
If the flame is weak and doesnt reach the thermocouple probe blow the crap from the pilot burner with an air duster or even by blowing at it through a McDonalds straw.

We have reached the limit of what I expect you to be able to do at this point. Try that and post back.
