I have replaced a burnt out circulation pump, no leaks and the heating is working throughout house. Problem I have is that the noise level emited from the pump has greatly increased to previous. I replaced a grundfos UPS 15-60 pump with a Wilo Gold RS 60. Suitability to change the Grundfos with this model of Wilo is stated on the packaging. My question is: What can I do to reduce the noise (or what have I done wrong to that has cause the increase) or is the increased noise synonymous with this brand of pump?

A Wilo pump shouldn't be any noisier than a Grundfos. Have you vented air out of the spindle? Did you drain the system when you changed the pump? Have you fully opened the isolating valves either side of the pump? Do not run the pump if it is very noisy - it may be suffering damage.
What setting was the Grunfoss on?
What setting have you oput the Wilo on?
Setting 2 is normally adequate unless there is a fault.
A "60" is only required for larger installations, do you really have such a large house with a 30 kW of heating?

Besides not eliminating air from the system, you could have overpressurized by adding too much water back to the loop which will make a pump run hard.
I second the reply that mentioned to check all valves (zone valves too to make sure they are opening on a heat call), if one is partially restricted this may cause cavitation in the pump which can be noisey.
One last thought, not an insult, but did you install the pump flow in the proper direction?

have same problem.
with one difference...
some times pump runs smooth / silent ( I can feel it - CH on ) - but regular - 1st. thing in the morning it is noisy - sounds like air in system??
Can I fix by:
closing exit valve. turning on pump - removing bled screw " venting" ( loads of water?? space is bit cramped and cant get bucket in - will a few towels be enough? )
If you want advice here you need to fully describe your system.
If it were possible I suspect you have an open vent system and that would need to be converted to a sealed syste,

why would noise be intermittent?? i.e. run silently much of the time - noisy 1st thing in the morning?
