My hair dresser had a parrot; he took it to the vet where it had to be put to sleep for an operation. It didn’t recover & the vet charged him. I would have thought that a vet would have insurance to cover this type of thing. Does anyone have any thoughts/views on this?
Its not a joke.

Hello,

I don't know the law parrot fashion , but do believe that some form of insurance would be in place, maybe it is on the birds 'own' insurance policy !
I doubt if the 'surgeon' will end up 'doing bird' for negligence in this case.
Did they ask for the money before they broke the bad news ??

Cheers

Ed

Apparently is very common for birds and small animals not to recover - but they still charge as it's not their fault.

Apparanly the birds owner was not told that there was a risk of the bird dying. (It was only having a few feathers removed)

My daughters hamster died after a minor op.

Any form of surgery carries risks, can you claim if an elderly relative dies from complications on the operating table.
