will soon be getting someone in to build a block built shed at the back, single wall contruction

what is best to use in terms of strength and value for money?

Thanks

Concrete blocks are the strongest and cheapest although they are not a good insulator compared to thermalite/celcon blocks.

Cheers

Are thermallite the ones that can be cut with a saw?

what are the cost comparisons against concrete blocks / clecon blocks / bricks?

Yep easy to handle and cut. I think concrete are about 1/3 of the price. You also need to render the ther/celcon blocks and they mark v easy.

Dont care about insulation so concrete blocks will do.

How much am i looking per block, calculated I need 500 odd blocks for a 20ftx15ftx8ft building.

fluffster where do you buy your blocks? I am very fortunate to have a quarry locally and they charge 12p each. One time i only needed 12 and he didnt bother to charge me. Thats an exception obviously but even in a shed there only 95p?

will 4" blocks be fine will pillars built along the walls or do I need 6"?

I dont want to go to the expense of 6" or double wall if i dont have to
