Replacing shower switch

Hello there can someone tell me if i can replace a 45 amp white wall switch with a 20 amp chrome switch for my shower someone said its the same but i do not trust

Borrow £45 from that someone.

Repay him £20.

Tell him it's the same.

Maybe he'll learn not to give people stupid advice that could hurt them.
 
why is your shower switch on the wall?
they are usually ceiling pullcords, or are installed in airing cupboards out of sight, so fitting a chrome one in an airing cupboard is just being snooty :)
 
According to my copy of the regs, Zone 3 starts 600mm from the edge of the bath/shower enclosure, and in Zone 3 you can have a switch.

Would be a bit of a b*gger though not having a loft space/ceiling void to push the cables up into when fitting the thing... :wink:
