ford focus remote central locking

Hi
MY daughter has a ford focus 51 plate
The remote central locking fob has suddenly stopped working
she has replaced the batteries but still no joy
Any ideas ?

The key may need reprogramming. Have a look in the drivers handbook, may be able to do it yourself. If not it will be a main dealer only job

Exactly the same thing happened on my Year 2000 Mondeo. There is a site which tells you how to reset it. After a couple of attempts it worked, about 30secs. to do.

i am going to fiddle with it tomorrow as my daughter is visiting

it could also be a dry solder in the remote itself.
