Radiators work, no hot water after turning off system.

Ok my bad. I must have turned off the tap to the big tank while trying to map out my system. I turned the tap and water started filling the tank up. There is a thin pipe (15mm?) which goes both into the F&E tank and the bigger water tank. This pipe has two metal taps, one next to the F&E tank and the other used for the larger tank both are open. Another thicker pipe leads from the cylinder and goes up to the bigger tank which is warm. Another pipe of the same size also goes up to the bigger tank, this pipe has a red valve which is fully open and is cold to the touch.

I am going to recheck everything and map the system out. I'm guessing I may have a blockage somewhere. Thanks to everyone for their help so far..

They're both open now, but were they both open before you checked?

Another thicker pipe leads from the cylinder and goes up to the bigger tank which is warm.

If it connects to the heating system and loops over the top of the F&E cistern, then it's also a vent and it is allowed to be warm.

If it connects to the heating system and the base of the F&E cistern, then it's the cold feed and it is allowed to be warm.

Another pipe of the same size also goes up to the bigger tank, this pipe has a red valve which is fully open and is cold to the touch.

If it connects to the base of the cylinder and the base of the cold storage cistern, then it's the cold feed to the cylinder and it should be cold.

If it connects to the top of the cylinder and loops over the top of the cold storage cistern, then it's a vent and it should be warm.

I am going to recheck everything and map the system out. I'm guessing I may have a blockage somewhere.
