Best water repellant seal for patio

Hello Suggestions for the best water repellant patio sealer which (hopefully) won’t darken these slabs? Just been jet washed and plan to go out tomorrow and buy whatever people suggest is the best roll on/spray solution? Thomsons water seal springs to mind, is there anything better or is it all...

    Storm sealant or mortar

See this tiny crack between the patio surface and the UPVC sill? Waters been getting in and is now under the floor. What’s best to seal it, one of the many many ‘storm’ sealants in a gun or by wedging mortar down the crack?

What adhesive to use to fix wooden batten to wall

The original gate was fitted, badly, in the 60s, I couldn’t find any new gates of the same size where the anchor points are the same. Pity really, it would save what has been quite a tricky plan.

What adhesive to use to fix wooden batten to wall

Hi all I’m replacing my front path gate, see pic, with a new one, but sizing issues means it will need to be hung off differently located fixings which I plan on screwing into accoya blocks that are in turn pre-fixed to the wall with some kind of adhesive/bond. The gate is about the same size...

    Knackered Triton Shower

Hi all, I've got a simple Triton 9.5kw shower, nothing fancy, and when i turn it on it runs for a minute but then makes and odd noise, water stops flowing, basically packs up. Not every time, but increasingly so. We have no other issues with the electrics or the water supply or pressure. Its...

    Waterproof wide joint patio grout

Hey all, I need to recondition my patio grout before the winter rains properly set in - patio is nothing special, cast concrete slabs, existing grout is shot so rainwater is seeping into the ground below and causing me slight damp problems in the room next to the patio. The google has a...

Replacing a glass insert panel in a UPVC front door

I see, so if I ease out one of the beads from the inside side of the door I should see what kind of system is holding it in place? Of the two possible scenarios you describe above, I take it the second one is more bother than its worth?

Replacing a glass insert panel in a UPVC front door

Hi all, I have a crappy UPVC front door (20+ years old, not composite) which has a dated decorative glass insert on the top half which I want to replace with a more contemporary frosted panel instead. I've had a cusory glance at youtube and it seems this is a diy job (once the old panel is...

Beko induction hob power cut malfunction

We had the consumer unit trip out our Beko induction hob the other day when virtually every appliance in the kitchen was on the go at the same time. Its a black 4 hob jobby with and on/off switch and up/down arrows for each hob. Not sure of the model number but at the entry level end of the...
