Block paving drive weeds keep coming

Been in house for 2 years previous owner did a great job of regularly jet washing the block paving drive every year but never replaced the sand filler! To top that off he kindly re seeded the grass a few months before selling but looks like more went down the gaps in the block paving. I have...

    Neff dishwasher runs for hours

Got a Neff dishwasher. Once started the LCD program timer shows 2hrs. Gets you around 15 mins then goes back up to around the 2 hours mark again taking a total of around 4hrs plus to complete a cycle. Any ideas if this is normal or a known issue. Thanks

Thanks Handymanjo. Will get them to fit it as I have this fear of setting off the alarm and not being able to stop it.

Installing a 2nd keypad for Accenta mini 8

Hi, Got an Accenta mini 8 when moved into house. I would like a second key pad fitted near back door as use this more with dog and kids. Got quoted just over £100, the main box is literally 2 meters away in a cupboard from where I want the new keypad. 1) How difficult is it (am not bad at...

3 different quotes, 3 different size boilers and three vastly different prices.

The current boiler is a 15 year old Vokera Linea Max. Looking at the manual Central Heating output range 28.0kW. 15 year old house with 18 radiators. I asked for any other boilers and they all said Worcester are the best. I was sniffing around for an Intergas after reading post on this...

3 different quotes, 3 different size boilers and three vastly different prices.

Sorry to have a moan but this am sure is an issue that many people who are wanting a boiler replaced will suffer from and its frustrated me. This is not a 'how much should it cost post' as I understand you cant quote until you see the job first hand. I got three quotes to replace an old combi...

Wall made up of the following specs, cavity wall insulation question

Hi KenGMac, I will try and answer above post best I can and uploaded a photo so you can see it even more clearly. Just to confirm the cavity wall insulation was done in 2012 and no visible issues of damp. I just know that in CWI can cause issues so was really asking what are the risks with CWI...

Wall made up of the following specs, cavity wall insulation question

Moved into a house that was built in 2000 in Scotland. It had cavity wall insulation done by previous owner in 2012. Slightly paranoid about this so took out an external vent a saw that the external wall is made up of the following. 1)Render on outside, 2)100mm concrete block, 3)50mm cavity...

Accenta 8 mini engineer code and service

Thanks, will book a service for it then. Bit off topic but do know if you can set up and alarm like this for external door sensors only to be active. We have 4 external doors that have the switch for the alarm at the the top and ideally would be good to set just these when we leave the dog at...

Accenta 8 mini engineer code and service

Moved into house and have the normal code for the alarm. Previous owner had the alarm serviced every year, its only an audible alarm not linked to anywhere else. Questions are: 1) Do I need the alarm serviced every year (never had an alarm in home before) 2) If I chose not to have it...

Is bigger better for a unvented tank for solar heating?

Three at the moment but family will get bigger, plus we often have family who stay. My question would be, take the solar heating out the equation, how much more gas would it take to heat the hot water for and average family for a 300 ltr tank compared to a 200 ltr tank? The tanks as most will...

Is bigger better for a unvented tank for solar heating?

Finally decided to have the old combi boiler replaced with a heat only one and a unvented system with a tank for hot water. Will be doing this first then have solar panels fitted later to provide heating for hot water in order to spread the cost. Question is what size tank do you think is...

    Intergas boiler?

Am good at not using any other hot water tap when someone is showering, other members of the house often forget. Ideally I would like solar thermal panels but would need a tank etc as currently only got a combi so not sure if worth the investment, anyway am going off topic.

    Intergas boiler?

No we would never do that just one shower at a time. Its the fact we have 18 radiators is the issue, or hopefully not an issue.
