Fire Building Regs - staircase to loft

Thanks - presumably though we can just use FD30 doors which have a better rating. There are many very nice ones of these to choose from (y) I will report back to my parents...

Panoroof skylights - are they any good??

I'm afraid I can't remember (and not at home right now) but I installed it as per the instructions. I would have thought that one side being 4cm higher than the other would fine as pilsbury suggests.

Fire Building Regs - staircase to loft

Further to the above I have just read the below on the homebuilding and renovation website... Is it correct? If so then I think we will be fine. The whole stairwell has doors to it - no open plan access to other rooms. The 7.5m refers to finished floor level of the top floor yea?

Many thanks for clarifying - very helpful. Is that sprinklers in the hall (escape route) or throughout the house?

Fire Building Regs - staircase to loft

Hi all. My parents are in the process of designing their forever home and they will have a large loft in the roofspace for storage. It is in fact large enough for future conversion if this were to ever be desired - but this is not the plan at this time. Instead of creating a hatch and ladder...

Panoroof skylights - are they any good??

Just to add - I agree with this. I washed mine a couple of weeks ago... That said I think you'd probably need to wash any window like this every year or two..?

    Atag IS24 OEM Error 90

All - many thanks for your comments. I was obviously in a bit of a post-holiday blur but all of your comments above are very relevant. The boiler is in a dark cupboard and has two displays... the one lit up (that was pictured) and another without a back light... the one that was not lit up was...

Hi all, I finished my extension/refurd project last year and installed a number of Velux Integra windows, unfortunately I just missed out on the latest windows which you can control via Alexa. However, I have read the article below saying that the new tech should be backward compatible so that...

Cost of Limecrete floor slab v 'standard' concrete slab

For completeness I thought I should post an update... Floor was installed and is great. Would highly recommend the Limecrete Company who were professional and laid a perfect floor slab. The floor is lovely and warm and damp issues seem to be resolved... I've made some pics available here for...

    Stainless Steel Splashback thickness?

Hi all, I am just about to order a stainless steel splashback to finish off my kitchen! Just going to order it online to keep things simple but there is a wide range of thicknesses available (from 0.9mm to 3mm thick)? Is there a thickness that anyone would recommend? My initial thinking is...

Panoroof skylights - are they any good??

We used the following from TLC - Google the below codes to find them. SK153718 LTYT40DC12 Defo a proper light. Very bright. We often just have the led ribbon light on. We do have them dimmable so we can set the mood right. The website us actually incorrect in The tech spec - the LED tape is...

Panoroof skylights - are they any good??

The intention was so that at night time, we still had light coming down from our skylight. To achieve this we set LED ribbon within a 90 degree aliminium profile (https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SK156810.html). Above the profile we stepped the verticle wall out by doubling up the...
