I have some pipework running parallel with the floor along a section of wall with a fairly sharp kink in it (see pic below).
The way I was planning on doing this was to get a length of timber, kerf cut it and fix some wooden blocks to the wall & attach the length of timber.
Questions I have...
Yep, can do that and keep it out of the worst of the rain but just need to make sure it's protected from the all pervading dampness that I get in this part of the world. Will look at the sealants mentioned by the poster above.
It's not really going to be that well protected - it is barely under the eaves of the garage roof. The door in the pic is the one I'm swapping out with the arched door
Sounds a good approach - just wondering if this is going to be suitable for external used though - juat thinking all those bits of ply are going to swell and warp if they get wet unless I can thoroughly weatherproof it.
I'm fitting a nice old wooden external door with a gothic arch onto the side of my garage.
Not really sure how to approach the arched part of the door frame. What I have in mind is a couple of soild timber uprights and affix the arch to the top of these. I was thinking get a thick piece of...

I was wrong, it does drip on the handset too. Not sure which part I need to look at here - I can get to the cartridge but presumably the on/off valve is at the other end of the bar and it looks like I can’t remove the end cap from there like I can the other end.
So the leaking happens when the tap that switches between the rain shower and the flexible hose attachment is positioned on the rain shower. If I switch to the other position I get no leaking. That said, it makes a lot of whistling sounds when I turn on another bathroom tap regardless of what...
I know nothing about these devices but the shower head leaks when valve is in the off position and there’s increased flow of the leakage and a whistling sound if I turn on another tap in the bathroom.
Am I right is assuming that you can’t get parts for these shower bars and you just replace the...
Any idea what these 2 apertures are at the base of the window? Are they vents? If so don't see how they work as there's nothing corresponding on the inside of the window....
