    Boiler paperwork

I originally posted this in the building forum, but should have put it here. 3 years or so ago, I had an EcoTec fitted to an external wall of garage. It was installed by Valliant fitter and registered etc. I got a compliance certificate at the time. Fast fwd to a few months ago and the...

    U values

Yeah I've got the same vents fitted and there is still plenty of room above the top of the PIR because they're scissor trusses.

    U values

How do u do the pir into the eaves and do the eaves still need to be packed with rockwool? Never done this before

    U values

Does anyone know how to workout u-values that might be able to assist BCO coming on Tuesday and it would be nice to be able to fend him off. My original plans for an extension had the roof done with normal fink trusses. The plans stated 300mm rockwool laid in 2 layers and to pack the eaves...

    Wedge in window frame

Recently fitted a bifold window to my house. There is a small black wedge screwed into the frame. Should this be removed? Not sure if its there for transportation only or if its permanent. It seems like disposable plastic rather than a permanent fixture.

    Laying 22mm chipboard

I must admit, glueing it down does concern me, but it is the method that Caberdeck endorse. On the ground floor, where there are pipes underneath u will screw it with chipboard screws. On the first floor, the only thing underneath will be cables - no pipes. Glueing down wouldn't be so...

    Laying 22mm chipboard

I'm about to lay a load of 22mm chipboard flooring. I've watched a few Robin Clevett videos and I'm going to copy his method. Basically glue the flooring to joists with PU glue and also glue to tongues and grooves together. But - do the ends of the boards (narrow width) have to land on a...

    Seems a bit steep ?

Make a start on it. Don't focus on the whole project.... just the step in front of you. Its surprising how much u can do when u just keep focusing on the next step that you've gotta take. For example.... can u do some demo work? Probably. Now that's done, can u contract a ground worker...

    Seems a bit steep ?

Seems steep to me..... but then again, you've done well to even get a quote. Most builders have so much on, they can pick and choose

Fixongs for Alu bifold door frame to brick

Yeah.... I could get three sides in ok, but the 4th bead was so tight to get in, it was awful. 3 hours at least. Total nightmare. I've not put the gasket in yet, but that should be pretty straightforward.

Fixongs for Alu bifold door frame to brick

Went in fine..... but oh my god, the beads are a total nightmare. All sorted, but getting them in was the hardest, most stressful thing I've ever done. Ever.

Fixongs for Alu bifold door frame to brick

I've fitted plenty of composite doors and upvc windows b4, just never done a bifold.
