    Blocked Washing Machine

Point taken, but in my defense, not having any background in domestic electrical or plumbing areas, its not even something I would have ever thought about, nor supposed. Much the same as a car driver only needs to know: turn the key and the engine starts, they dont need to know (or think about)...

    Blocked Washing Machine

Hmmm? didnt know washers had electrically operated valves on the water inlets? I think this might be getting beyond a home "have-a-go" fix

    Blocked Washing Machine

Are you saying that if either the hot or cold water inlets are not working (I presume you mean blocked?) then the conditioner wont get washed into the drum but the powder does? The wash powder goes through no problem, are the powder and conditioner compartments (same drawer) flushed through by...

Hi None of the conditioner has gone and it looks like there is a small amount of water floating on top of the conditioner.

Ripped Off 78 year old lady

Hey Stingray they are great pointers, thanks. I have found the one for my locality of Wigan and also one for where my mother lives. These things should be well advertised and common knowledge to everyone! thanks again

Ripped Off 78 year old lady

Cheers guys appreciate the good guys. dont worry, we/she know its the minority that spoil it for the rest. I do think there should be a national register to post your location and who you have had that was a good tradesman in any trade. Only listing the good ones would be the way...

Ripped Off 78 year old lady

Thanks for the reply guys. I dont think there is anything that I can realistically acheive with this. Suffice to say she will note down the phone number as a "NOT TO BE USED" again one and tell everyone she knows of this guy. Most of you here I agree with and you mostly seem decent people...

Ripped Off 78 year old lady

Can anything be done about what I see as ripping off an OAP? A month back my 78yearold mother who lives in Glossop, Derbyshire, had an overflow pipe dripping outside. Without me knowing she got a plumber in who charged her for putting a new ballcock in the loft coldwater tank. Last night...

Shower scalds when showerhead is raised - Mira 88

thanks Swidders, I presume this is the sponge and carrier bag? I guess the idea is it forces the stronger pressure of water back up the airlocked supply to force the air out? I will give it a go and report back Thanks Carl

Shower scalds when showerhead is raised - Mira 88

Hi, no, I'm not sure, just a guess really as the sink next to the shower is really powerfull when the cold tap is turned so I guessed they would be from the same feed. All the rest of the taps are fine though.

Shower scalds when showerhead is raised - Mira 88

Hello people hopefully somebody can please advise me? I have been living in my house for 5 years and apart from my Mira 88 mixer shower always having had weak pressure, (hot tank and cold mains fed with no additional pump) it has never been a problem. Recently, with no other taps...

Hey Bob, I have done that but find it a bit awkward. My R1 is ok but me Bandits a bit of a pig to do it.

    Motorcycle turntable outside garage

the garage will be approx 70feet from the roadway down my single width flagged path so Im afraid reversing in really isnt an option. Hence if I had a "turntable" outside my garage doors it would be so easy just to roll the bike backwards a few feet and spin it round then just ride out. Thanks...
