New Kitchen(changing a single unit cooker to a oven and hob)

Very amusing! Not a lot on then? It was your comment about the CCU behind the oven! Always best to have items easy accessible!

New Kitchen(changing a single unit cooker to a oven and hob)

The regs I was on about are the part P which he will not have to worry about until something happens where he does. I am a retired elect and we have just had a kitchen refit. I was not allowed (Wife) on pain of death to do the elect work. The elect that came round required a 4mm and a 6mm for...

    Lifting floor.

Had a new kitchen floor fitted about 6 months ago using karndean flooring. The original floor had a couple of patches where we had had leaks years ago and the SLC had lifted in those areas. I took up the old flooring and removed the glue. When the floor layer came to start I pointed out the...

New Kitchen(changing a single unit cooker to a oven and hob)

I recently had our kitchen refurbed and the oven and hob were wired seperately back to the consumer unit with the size cables you described. This is obviously dependant on the length of cable. Mine was about 15m. You will need a seperate local isolator for each unit.

    caravan insulating

This is a caravan on a small site / park which is open 8 months of the year. March to Oct. and it can get really cold at times There are reasonable carpets on the floor. I am more interested in fixing the Celotex between the joists from below. The Celotex clip is apparently for fixing from...

    caravan insulating

It will be easier to fit the insulation prior to the skirt. You still have to allow a percentage of ventilation under the van apparently to allow for any gas leakage to be vented out. The material I intend to use has a vented strip to be included every so many feet!!

    caravan insulating

Some good points. Cheers. The caravan has double glazing and thick curtains but the carpet could be a bit thicker. I will have a word with the caravan makers re the underfloor options.

    caravan insulating

I have a 36 x 12ft. caravan and even with central heating gets cold in autumn and spring. I thought about using Celotex fitted between the floor joist from underneath but am unsure whether it would work and how would I fix it up. Any ideas?
