Silicone or ShowerSeal Ultra for 10mm gap?

I did the tiling myself  ! It was my first tiling job. Furthermore I didn't know about tanking the walls either so it wasn't done. Luckily the tiles are huge (14" x 22") so there have been no leaks so far from the tiles. Also there is only one tile with a big gap under it. The only...

Silicone or ShowerSeal Ultra for 10mm gap?

I have just removed the silicone sealant from around my ensuite shower tray and have noticed that there is a gap of about 10mm between the bottom of the tile and the shower tray. Should I use silicone again on this and use a VERY large helping around the edges, or should I use something like...

    Raising height of PVC door?

Yes, as there is no way to remove the old tile adhesive.

    Raising height of PVC door?

Drat. So if there is no way to do this then what are the spacers for at the top of the door frame and why then are there allen key sockets on the underside of each of the hinges? What do these adjust?

    Raising height of PVC door?

Our back door is PVC and just about cleared our floor tiles by a millimeter or two. However, we've had to lift all of the tiles due to a pipe leak and so before replacing the tiles we have to add a self leveling screed the floor. Therefore, when the new tiles are laid the floor level will rise...

Self-levelling compound on non-dried out concrete patch?

Yeah you're right my tiler will probably know, I'm just being overly cautious as usual! Thanks.

Self-levelling compound on non-dried out concrete patch?

Is it safe to apply self-leveling compound to a concrete patch that is not fully dried out? To cut a long story short, we had a leaky pipe AND a DPM issue so part of the floor had to be dug up (see photo). Because couldn't get a match for the tiles we also had to lift the entire 40m squared...

What should Danfoss motorised valve be set to - AUTO or MAN?

I have two Danfoss motorised valves in my hotpress, and was wondering what AUTO and MAN means? One is set to AUTO and the other is set to MAN, however I could have sworn that both were set to AUTO the other day. Since then we've had a plumber in fixing a pipe and he was doing something in the...

Found leak in copper pipe under concrete!

Ah, I see, sorry. Again, this will be the case that if the plumber is worth his salt he will know to do this before hand.

Found leak in copper pipe under concrete!

I'm gonna leave the hole exposed and lift the tiles, then hire a de-humidifier, will this do the job?

Found leak in copper pipe under concrete!

This is all really good advice fellas, thank you. The plumber has done work for me before and he seems to know his stuff, so hopefully it'll be grand. I'll probably not be re-tiling for a few months anyway at the very least, so if needs be I can dig up the hole again.

Found leak in copper pipe under concrete!

Yeah, I guess you're right. So I guess in order to test that the joint is working correctly I should leave the hole open for a month or two and keep an eye for leaks, right?

Found leak in copper pipe under concrete!

How should I check that the plumber will do this without seeming interfering or trying to tell him how to do his job?
