    Replacement light switch wiring

Ah you are right. I haven't encountered an intermediate one before! The earth cable is there, just not in shot. Are you able to tell me how to wire up my old socket again instead as I don't have time to go and get an intermediate switch right now and have party tonight! Here's the old switch:

    Replacement light switch wiring

Hi all. I have successfully replaced many light switches in my time but I've just had a senior moment with my latest replacement and left myself befuddled o_O I wasn't paying enough attention to the old switch and started swapping over wires to the same marked terminals on the new switch. It...

Replacing 3 gang dimmer with standard switch

Yes it's not ideal. There is a gap of course but I've tucked all cables behind plate and duck taped over the gap for now. I'm going to buy a 3 gang switch to fit existing back box. There are some available online.

Replacing 3 gang dimmer with standard switch

The lamps are dimmable yes. It's mainly one of the gangs but the other is doing it too just a lot less frequently. The 3rd gang is conected to a standard light fitting which hasn't got a bulb in so can't test it.

Replacing 3 gang dimmer with standard switch

Hi all. I have recently had my kitchen moved downstairs (I live in a townhouse) and have mains voltage LED downlights. I bought a Varilight IR V-Pro Trailing Edge dimmer and my Electrician fitted it yesterday. It worked fine for a few hours but now is going haywire and randomly turning on and...

    Buzzing GU10 LEDs

I think so. The dimmer is set to Trailing Edge for the LED lamps.

    Buzzing GU10 LEDs

The kitchen is large and very dark with only one window for light. We wanted it to be as bright as possible. To be honest, it's only just bright enough with 18 bulbs!

    Buzzing GU10 LEDs

The dimmer switch is silent - it's the LEDs that are buzzing.

    Buzzing GU10 LEDs

Just to be clear, the dimmer switch itself is silent. It's the bulbs that are humming. According to the instructions this dimmer has two modes - trailing edge and leading. I tried leading edge and the bulbs wouldn't even come on!

    Buzzing GU10 LEDs

Thanks for that. I actually came across that thread when I was looking into the issue yesterday. Must admit I got a bit lost after a while!

    Buzzing GU10 LEDs

Hi all. We've just had our kitchen relocated and have 2 banks of 9 GU10 Lap Dimmable 5W bulbs from Screwfix. I already have a set of these bulbs in our old kitchen and have been impressed with their output. The new kitchen has these leds controlled by a Varilight V-Pro Trailing Edge 3 gang...

    Laminate - which underlay?

Hi there. I am soon going to need to buy some underlay for the ground floor of my house. We are having Quick Step Impressive 8mm laminate flooring laid in a couple of weeks. We have just extended the ground floor into our garage to create a large kitchen diner. As a result half of the area is...
