Any tricks for getting 3/4" pipe to seal well in a 22mm compression fitting?

Yeah, I had already found some 3/4" copper olives on Ebay and ordered a couple - £1 each! I guess there's not so much call for them, these days. I guess I was just wondering whether there was a trick to this or not with brass 22mm or 3/4" olives on 3/4" pipe. My usual way of getting the...

Any tricks for getting 3/4" pipe to seal well in a 22mm compression fitting?

Thanks for the replies. I did consider a 22mm to 3/4" compression fitting, but then they look like they're basically a 22mm coupler with a 22mm olive one end and a 3/4" olive the other? If so, I guess that's half of what I'm trying to do with the flexi anyway. I'll give a 3/4" copper olive a go...

Any tricks for getting 3/4" pipe to seal well in a 22mm compression fitting?

Hi, Well, I made the mistake of thinking we had 22mm feeding the taps in our bath when I came to change them - measured the OD before, basically 22mm, thought "OK" - lesson now learnt on difference between 3/4" and 22mm :) . Anyway, I need to connect a 22m compression flexi to a (now cut down)...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

Just to continue a thread I started 5 years ago now . Having finally got around to just about thinking about actually doing this, I found another (much cheaper, and more widely available than the Laufen) toilet that seems to pretty much fit in these situations without resorting to the...

Shower hose wall outlet with female 1/2" BSP?

Also found this, which looks like it might be a bit nicer than the other elbows I've seen : https://shop.lunns.net/valez-female-threaded-wall-outlet-shower-elbow-205mm-aka-12-bsp-uul3-6-254264-p.asp

Shower hose wall outlet with female 1/2" BSP?

Thanks. Yeah, I've been thinking that too - thing is, once the tiling's done, that's "it" for a long while so, if it's possible, I'd like to have something a bit more generic and replaceable there as the outlet. It's a good shower, it's just really annoying that it came with this whole male...

Shower hose wall outlet with female 1/2" BSP?

Hi, I've had a Triton mixer shower installed for years and am now going to re-tile my bathroom. The current shower hose wall outlet is chromed plastic and now grotty, it's this one: I can get a direct replacement at a few places, but it's ridiculously expensive for what it is and I'd...

    Toilet cemented into clay pipe?

Yours looks similar to mine (that I still haven't got around to doing). If it is, then a close coupled rear outlet toilet will leave you with a cistern quite a way from the wall - depending on the distance from the wall, a swan neck connector might/might not be enough to sort that out, but you...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

Out of interest @JohnD , did you have a salt glazed pipe to sort out too? I've seen the various recommendations on the web concerning how to go about this (most on this very forum) but it still seems like it'll be a bit of a "heart in the mouth" moment when doing it, to avoid cracking the pipe...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

Thanks - yeah, have seen them in my "travels" trying to find something that'll fit. Not entirely sure they will, without a bit of faffing, and they seem a bit harder to get hold of than they once were. Also the Burlington ones, which would seem to be an "easier" fit, as they look to have some...

Are there any current toilets that more easily replace a low-level s-trap?

Hi, So....4 years later, and I've decided to look at this again :). This is partly because, about a year ago, I fitted a new seat to the old toilet - it was one that had the nylon bolts holding the bracket that were supposed to snap off when tightened enough. However, what actually happened...

Brand recommendations for replacement type 21 and 22 mild steel radiators?

Thanks all for the recommendations. I could *nearly* get all of them from Screwfix if I went for Kudox...bar an odd little 400x400 I need ;) . Myson and Barlo look good too.

Brand recommendations for replacement type 21 and 22 mild steel radiators?

Thanks Mike - Purmo look interesting, not heard of them - easily have the same height/widths I've got now. Hadn't twigged that the Barlo delta compact radiators are available from Toolstation either (mentioned by denso13 above) - that would make getting them a bit easy for me. Will have a look...

Brand recommendations for replacement type 21 and 22 mild steel radiators?

Thanks. Just looked at the Stelrad range, and their minimum height looks to be 450mm. That would *just* about work, I guess - I've got two type 22s, and one type 21 that need to fit in the spaces below low window sills though - they would fit, but they'd almost be at the height of the sill...

Brand recommendations for replacement type 21 and 22 mild steel radiators?

Hi, We've had 3 of our existing radiators start to leak over the last month, and I suspect more to start leaking soon (if they're representative of the lot). They're all about 15 years old, so have had a good run (I guess?). The 3 that have started failing are all leaking from the same place...
