    Has anyone noticed....

Unfortunately, tradepoint is one of the nearest places for me, as is a screwfix counter. They are one in the same, and I find the usual procedure is to go to screwfix and find they have "none in stock". Then it's off to tradepoint where it will be in stock. Or vice versa! Between the two of...

Where to get flex 'support/shroud' from..

Thank you BAS, Your 'logical and thought-out' mind is one I wish I possessed a bit more. It was obviously strain relief all along....not medicinal though..... Thanks again.

    Has anyone noticed....

....how absolutely awful the index in Tradepoints catolgue is! They have obviously muddled it together in a hurry and has been done by someone 'deskbound' employee who has no knowledge of what parts are commonly called, I am not referring to slang terms either! The (other) annoying thing is...

Where to get flex 'support/shroud' from..

Hi all, Have been asked to replace a damaged flex 'shroud' on a electric recliner. Yes, it's my 'big job' that should carry me through the rest of March! The chair is ancient but has sentimental value, and the inner insulation cores are peeking out the end of the controller for it. The...

Clutch and brakepads on Citroen van....

Hi all, I have a Dispatch van, 58 plate, 17000 miles, bought from new. I do not carry huge amounts of weight and do not make loads of stops per day. I have recently had to replace the front brake pads as they were 95% worn. I have been out with mechanic from garage today as also have...

    300va wiring PLEASE HELP!!!!

Never thought of that Bernard. It does make sense. The meters were two cheap jobbies and a Megger mft1552 which I got out of van due to the cheapo multi meter readings. Tried another tranny and it measured near to 12V so am a lil confused as to why lamp wasn't dimmer than the rest. Cheers.

    300va wiring PLEASE HELP!!!!

Relating to this I recently went to look at a dodgy tranny (no, not that type!), the halogen was equally as bright as other lamps but was only getting 7V through to it. Measured it with 3 different meters! i thought it would be much dimmer also.

Is the 1st fix cable before or after the transformer? That is to say will 230V or (possibly) 12V be going through it.

Ronseal Diamond Hard satin wood paint - any good?

Hi, I am currently using this at home. It's not bad, goes on quite well with a purdy brush and reasonably free of brushmarks. After 2-3 coats I gave the bottom of the architraave a good whack; after 5 good hits a lil bit did chip off but all in all pretty robust. I also put karndean down and...

Where can I buy 35mm flexible conduit?

If access is good then maybe catenary wire and ties. Or if really really good could you put some narrow cable tray in and tie to that. Others I am sure will have better ideas.

Where can I buy 35mm flexible conduit?

Not sure what conduit would comply if you want to put tails in. Try Ronbar Factors in Washington, Tyne and Wear. They do common conduit sizes of 32mm and 40mm. They also do various glands and can often make a pre-made length for you. Maybe Anaconda sealtite have something suitable in their...
