Footing for large and heavy gazebo in soil with large roots.

It weighs 2.2 ton .. so I feel it does need to be anchored to the ground. The opening is facing the wind and wouldn't want it shifting back 2 metres into the neighbours! Someone suggested a ground screw?

Footing for large and heavy gazebo in soil with large roots.

Hello. I have a very large gazebo that we are moving to an area under a set of large trees. We have dug out the ground to around 20cm and filled it with hardcore. There are 6 large 14cm by 14cm legs for the gazebo to sit on the ground. Given the large roots, we couldn't go deep on the footing...

    Complicated cut!

Ok I get it! Thank you both for really helping here! I think I need to remove the panelling on the left side and change its height and go for your first picture right hand side option.

    Complicated cut!

Sorry I am still struggling given it is a slope and then a turn. I can’t visualise what to do. The dado has to sit on top of the mdf panelling.

    Complicated cut!

Hello. I was hopeful a helpful carpenter might help me with this complicated cut of a dado on top of my diy panelling. I have tried lots of different options and to no avail! How do I cut this so the dado matches up??

Granite setts with large grout lines.

they look pretty crap actually - they need something but it will be 10 bags of flowpoint to get them pointed I think.

Granite setts with large grout lines.

Hello. I have some existing granite setts that have very deep and wide grout lines 5cm - 8cm deep and often 6cm grout lines separating them. I bought some flow point in advance but am now wondering if I need to use a different product or just a mortar mix. How would you do it?

    Stone work advice needed

Hello. I have these stone steps and they have some cracks and some breakage in the grout lines. The stone looks like limestone but I may be wrong. Can anyone recommend what to use to fixed the cracks? What the grout is?

Any idea where to get this skirting top?

The gap in the MDF is where the top part attaches to the base of the top part (it has a small piece at the base that fits the gap)

Any idea where to get this skirting top?

Hello. Any ideas where I could source this kind of topper to the skirting? Have a section missing where a radiator is being removed.

    What paint for windows?

That is really helpful. So water based inside and oil based outside. Would I need to strip all the “good” paint of can I just focus on the stuff peeling off the wood and then “go over” the good paint with the new primer & finish to match?

    What paint for windows?

Hello. I have these windows that are losing their paint. Doesn’t look like they even had undercoat, but the hardwood is in good condition and no rot. I will strip and sand where needed but just go over the top where it isn’t…. So my question is what paint? And undercoat? A rubberised modern...
