    Plumbing fitments

Hi all, I am looking to repipe my hall radiator from 8mm copper to 15mm using plastic pipe and was thinking of using Tectite classic push fit instead of normal copper compression fitments, has anyone got any reservations about these, are they reliable to use on central heating systems and don't...

    Flexible roof pointing

Haha...... Basically it appears the pointing on my roof tiles has failed again and letting water through when then runs down the roof felt and onto my external walls, staining my wall in the process. My bungalow moves a bit with the seasonal temperatures and was looking into pointing that would...

    Flexible roof pointing

Morning all, I have water running down my wall and marking my fairly new render, the water is coming from my roof/pointing. My question is what would be the best pointing to use that would be flexible? I live in a bungalow which seems to move with ambient temperature changes, i am hoping...

Update this morning..... Last night i pressurised the system with all but the rad in the bathroom shut, I then went round all the radiators in the house one by one opening and running the heating and the closing the valves until I had down all the rads and the pressure stayed in the system...

Yeah that would be a god send, I’ll check my insurance but usually insurance companies eventually get their money back from a claim by grossly increasing your premium. Thanks again for your time and help tonight, you must have better things to do.

I don’t know how much the top up valve let’s in but it takes a good 7 or 8 secs with it open full for it to read about 1.3bar pressure. So if I had s leak somewhere and i looked around that area I thought I would have seen something but maybe am wrong.

Yeah sorry, I’ve checked the blow off valve shortly after starting heating and seemed ok, I’ve tied a bag to it now as well. Yeah Theres a small hatch in the hall floor as we are luckily enough just about to put a new carpet in and all is dry although the hatch is about 30cm from where rad is...

    Advice would be appreciated

Here’s a thing, when my heating starts up all the rads heat up good but once the heating has been on for a bit the rad in my hall then goes cold. Am guessing this is like an air lock or something but could that be causing water to go out the blow off valve to outside?

They are a mixture of both, old exsisting rads are copper 8mm and new ones are 10mm plastic. Is there anyway of finding a leak without tearing my house apart? Cheers

If you were losing water from rads I’d see water on floor or wall eh?

Yeah mate, I done that using the isolator valves and the pressure was pretty much the same in the morning, when I opened the valves I heard the water rush back into the system and the pressure went to near zero. I’ve ripped up a section of laminate already where new radiators were fitted and...
