Thanks. Don't need a jig - just a router bit and can't find it.

Cutting rebates in door for lock

I have used a hammer and chisel before but then thought why don't I use my router. Do you think I can find a router bit that will go 70mm deep? It would be so much easier to use a router than hammer and chisel but I can't find a router bit anywhere that will do it. Any ideas? Do...

If you had plugged in a monitor into the vga output it would have told you whether it was the cable\panel or gfx chipset.

Halstead Combi 102btu - pressure - confirm my suspicion

Thanks. I have it at .75 bar as per faq with the system open. I will take it to .9. I'm proper flummoxed though how the pressure in the boiler only (circuit isolated) can drop with no leaks. Makes no sense.

Halstead Combi 102btu - pressure - confirm my suspicion

Because I'm the one who put the air in using the faq. I thought I would be allowed to refill and empty my own boiler. If getting in tradesmen was always the answer then you might as well scrap this forum.

Halstead Combi 102btu - pressure - confirm my suspicion

Constant pressure drop requiring topping up everyday for the last few months. Drops from 1 bar to zero almost daily. I have filled the system to 2 bar and shut off the heating valves to the boiler. The pressure has dropped to .5 bar over the last couple of hours and seems to have stopped...

Celotex & ply over concrete garage floor

11 years ago I converted my garage. I put 18mm polystyrene on the concrete floor and then overlayed that in a different direction with 18mm T&G chipbard flooring. No issues. Do not stick the layers together - allow them to float. Ensure that the concrete base has a sufficient moisture barrier.

Get a NAS (to save you losing all your family pics etc)

I do a weekly backup from my NAS (running basic volumes) in my house to my NAS in my shed. The NAS in the shed fires up for 2 hours every Monday. I use append when backing up ie existing files are not changed - only additions are made. So if a corruption takes place on my main NAS this is not...

Get a NAS (to save you losing all your family pics etc)

Sorry if it's already been covered but this is what I bang on about on every forum so I just paste the same comment in every forum - RAID is for resiliency not backup. If the RAID controller errors out it may blow both sides of the array casuing corruptions on both disks. If you have a...

How do I fix bouncy joists & splitting T&G Floorb

Vapour barrier should not exist. Replace with something like chicken wire mesh. Celotex board is very expensive and in this instance not required. Stick with normal wool\fibre insulation.

In the context of the OP where he wants to use a second hand Sky HD box and use his subscription then NO he won't get the HD channels unless he pays HD sub. Please read the whole thread in future. If you use anything else ie standalone freesat box or satcard in your PC then you will receive...

    Freesat or Sky HD?

    1. If I buy a secondhand Sky HD Box for around £80 would my Viewing card still work in the HD Box? Yes - pair the card 2. Would I still receive the same Channels that I am currently getting with the Entertaiment Package? yes 3. Would be able to receive the free HD channels? no - sky HD sub...

    Connecting PC to Television Monitor.

The X1300 is not man enough to decode the blu ray formats. You would need an ATI 2xxx, 3xxx or 4xxx range. An ATI 3450 like the one in link below will be fine. Just make sure your motherboard can take a PCIE card and you have 512MB of RAM for XP or 1GB for Vista and a dual core cpu and you...
