Testing a 2 port zone valve?

All fixed. Thanks for all the input.

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

I’m happy to change the actuator & wire it in. Anything else will need an expert. It seems straightforward to wire in.

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

That wasn’t the fault, but at least that’s checked. Mains is off to all this, I’m not leaving it like this for any length of time.

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

I’m off to get a replacement. There is 233V across those motorised wires when the HW is switched on. Seems like the motor is gubbed. When I slide the auto / man lever right over, that’s when the boiler kicks in. It stops if I let it come back a few mm into the locked position. I’m assuming...

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

And… the bit that sticks into the valve, that turns easily, only moves about 20 degrees, is that normal?

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

I’ll get my multimeter. I can turn the valve easily when I’ve removed the MV.

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

It’s a tempest stainless from Telford Copper Cylinders. Nothing new has been fitted. It’s the motorised valve head that I think is gubbed. Here is a picture with the HW motorised valve head removed

Testing a 2 port zone valve?

I’ve a problem with my mains pressure hot water tank not heating. I’m suspecting it’s the 2 port zone valve actuator (Siemens CZV222). Can anybody help me test this theory? The system boiler works fine & any call for central heating fires it up. The Water tank works when I switch on the aux...

    Vokera MyNute 35HE Error code?

when my boiler tries to fire up, it pops the fuse on my board. When I turn it off & reset the electricity, the display shows 62 then 00. It then shows a number which seems to change, which I now realise is the water temp :) It’s possible that the PCB is knackered since there was an internal...

    Boiler leaking from this part....

I know, but it’s like a red button that says “don’t press”, everyone eventually presses. I’m glad you mentioned G3, I’ll be calling around a few companies tomorrow. I have a small list of things for the lucky winner to do. Everything more or less works, but I’ve a feeling that once the leaking...

    Boiler leaking from this part....

Ok, so I’ve got the new valve and small fibre washer. That should fix the boiler leak. I’ve noticed that the outside pipe that bends in towards the wall has been leaking. In the last service I had, April I think, the PRV got replaced because I mention this water lying outside. The thing is, that...

    Boiler leaking from this part....

I found an online manual & now understand what you mean by isolation valve. I’m not aware of this ever being used to isolate the boiler in all the time I’ve been here. My old man is up for a visit at the weekend. He’s a retired plumber back when Noah had a few issues, but I’m sure he’ll be able...

    Boiler leaking from this part....

The heating has just come on & it’s now stopped leaking. I guess some bit inside has expanded & it’s now sealed? I’ve been topping this thing up for a year & I guess any of that sentinel stuff would be diluted away to nothing. I’ve never managed to find out where this leak is coming from...

    Boiler leaking from this part....

Finally found out where my boiler was leaking from. See attached picture, it’s from underneath & it’s the valve on the right. It’s dripping from the bit that’s screwed in, the brass part, not leaking out the screw itself. Is the only option to replace it? It’s a Vokera MyNute system boiler...

Vokera MyNute 35He Pressure drops every day

Now that my wife insists the heating is switched on, the pressure drops every day after each heating demand & I need to repressurise it to get it to start. It's been working fine heating only the pressurised hot water cylinder (which has a 12 litre expansion tank bolted on the pipe work beside...
