    Inner rooflight glass shattered

The inner pane of a rooflight recently shattered for no apparent reason. There is no damage to the outer glass. They were manufactured and installed by the same company, 3 years ago. They are refusing to even speak to me on the phone. This is quite a large panel - around 1.5m square. ANd it's...

    Whistling underfloor heating TRV

Similar problem here. System fine for 3 years and now a high pitched whistle (not v.loud) that is annoying me. THere are three loops and whistling only seems to be prompted by two of them. Emmeti FMU3 and Grundfos UPMP3 Pump. Boiler is Vaillant EcoTec 830. Temp on manifold TRV is 45. Could...

Internal scaffold/platform for servicing boiler - experience?

I have a Vaillant boiler which is mounted on the wall above the stairs - it's some 6ft into the air and previous plumbers have simply worked on a ladder. Vaillant have advised that I need a scaffold for someone to service/repair the boiler for H+S reasons. I think it needs to be a platform...

RSG5DURS - water leaking from underneath each door hinge

thanks. It was indeed hell to fit the filter. But no, it isn't leaking. In fact I can't see any liquid inside the fridge or freezer - nor any evidence there has been a lot.

RSG5DURS - water leaking from underneath each door hinge

It's a side by side model - ie freezer on left, fridge on right. I've got water pooling underneath each hinge - on freezer and fridge side. THere are various videos on Youtube attempting to fix this on various Samsungs but none I can see on the side by side models. Do I need to go in from the...

    Low retaining wall... concrete?

I've got a low retaining wall (50cm above paving) that my builder is advising we build out of concrete. Obviously foundation needs to be concrete but I'm guessing it be cheaper/better to do the rest of the wall in some other way? I just don't see much online about building retaining walls out...

    Venting a tumble dryer

I have a similar situation but without room to go vertically up before I go out. So I'm wondering if the vent hole can be drilled at an angle through the wall?

Linear drain... Can I use the outlet cap as an inlet cap too?

Thanks. Not as far as I know. All stuff is here: https://www.aco.co.uk/products/hexdrain-brickslot I think jet cleaning is all I'll really require - it' s only a 5M run....

Linear drain... Can I use the outlet cap as an inlet cap too?

Thanks. I was just going for the regular black plastic one, however. There's no equivalent for your suggested part in that range.

Linear drain... Can I use the outlet cap as an inlet cap too?

Actually, I think I know now. I have to fit the corner unit and P-trap on exit side of the threshold, don't I? I guess I can do two corner units if I want - either side - so I can rod from opposite side of outlet.

Linear drain... Can I use the outlet cap as an inlet cap too?

I was specifically thinking of using an aco brickslot - plastic. The more I think about this though, the more hassle adding a gully here becomes I feel. I was trying to think about some easy access to the brickslot and preventing pools around the hose - which on reflection are more due to leaky...

Linear drain... Can I use the outlet cap as an inlet cap too?

Yes, that's a good point too. Can't do drain right the way across as the section in front of sliding doors dips in slightly... I can't see an effective way to space it from the door threshold so it's all in a line. With me?

Linear drain... Can I use the outlet cap as an inlet cap too?

Thanks for answering. It's a fair point. Will consider if it's necessary...
