Internal scaffold/platform for servicing boiler - experience?

I have a Vaillant boiler which is mounted on the wall above the stairs - it's some 6ft into the air and previous plumbers have simply worked on a ladder.

Vaillant have advised that I need a scaffold for someone to service/repair the boiler for H+S reasons.

I think it needs to be a platform type affair that stands on two different stair heights.
Has anyone got any experience of these? Buy/hire?
