    Cavity Wall Condensation Problem

Fair point. We do a bit on the older aluminium frames but only upstarirs. The toilet system is terrible. I have a demidifier which sits at about 60% most of the time. The problem on the walls has developed over a number of years though.

    Cavity Wall Condensation Problem

Thanks, I do appreciate the discussion. When the cavity wall insulation was put in I was told that because of a construction issue in another part of the building that there was a risk of settlement of the insulation on that wall and that the risk of condensation at that point would be worse...

    Cavity Wall Condensation Problem

John, get over this ventilation business please, we don't dry clothes over radiators and often the humidity outside is greater than inside so opening windows will not help. We have extraction in the bathroom and kitchen, cavity wall insulation and double glazed windows so apart from from some of...

    Cavity Wall Condensation Problem

Thanks for the replies. Yes it is black mould woody. If it was isolated like in one corner I might try ventilation, but its along entire walls. I might have missed the boat on the soffit work because we recently had the lot cladded. Given that the old stuff wasn't removed I don't suppose that...

    Cavity Wall Condensation Problem

Hi All, reckon it was 10-15 years ago that we had our cavity walls insulated. It was when British Gas had an offer on if it helps. Pretty sure it was the blown fibre. Anyway, in recent years we have been suffering from dampness around the top 6 inches or so of the outside walls. Its in several...

    Gas Hob - Poor Control

Ok, thanks for the replies. It seems to point to poor controls though without your input I could not have concluded that, it could I suppose be a pressure problem at my house. I'm not aware of the gas pressure being checked this time though I do recall that the engineer that serviced the...

    Gas Hob - Poor Control

Hi Pete, in case you are implying that I did it myself, I didn't and I did use a GasSafe installer, but I wasn't in when he did it, the form was signed off by my wife. I have a Gas Safety Inspection Report with no comment in relation to the gas controls on the cooker. The intention of my post...

    Gas Hob - Poor Control

Hi All, we have just replaced an old Indesit gas hob with a dual fuel Stoves cooker. Have to admit that I am slightly dissappointed with the control sensitivity for the gas hob. Basically there is full flame when the controls reach about 50% travel. Its the same for all 4. After that there is no...

    Honeywell DT90E

Hi All, applogies that variations of this question have already been asked, just not quite my setup. I'm replacing an old rotary room thermostat with a Honeywell DT90E. Old thermostat had a permanent live, switched live (by the thermostat), neutral and earth. The DT90e is a two wire...

    Painting Small MDF Letters??

ok, thanks. At the moment its a hobby but it could turn into a small business. Its very slow using a brush so might be worth an investment. Trouble is all the stuff I've seen is for large surface spraying rather than small objects.

    Painting Small MDF Letters??
