boundary fence blown down-replacing with bushes?

I agree with above but be careful. Ownership of the plants and their maintenance-with a new neighbour- could be an issue at a later date.

    Immersion heater problems

My immersion heater is not working and the light on the switch is not coming on. I,ve checked the dedicated fuse in the fuse box and this is OK. I,ve removed the switch from the wall ,tested the terminals with a mains tester and there is no power getting to the switch.Any ideas on what the...

Supplier sought for open ended wall bracket. See attachment

I am looking for a supplier for the 'open'ended tube wall bracket as arrowed in the photo attachment. A curtain has to be draped over the tube and then dropped onto the bracket so the usual 'closed' end brackets would not be suitable. Thanks in advance to all respondants. Roy.

    Steam bending advise.

Thanks one and all for the advise. The job is now completed and looks great. The steam bending gave a smooth even curve to the deck edging and is far superior to the 'notching' method of bending timber which results in a curve comprising a series of straight lines! One mistake I learnt from was...

    Steam bending advise.

Hi scrit. Hardwood not redwood (softwood) ie what is sold by timber merchants as 'mahogany' but can be various species of dark red hardwood-keruing,luarne etc. The radius will be only slightly less than can be achieved with the flex of the wood dry, hence the need to steam.

    Steam bending advise.

I propose steam bending lengths of 45x10 red hardwood to form the edgeing to a serpentine shaped hardwood deck. Do I bend, glue and tack in one operation or bend and tack first then when the wood has dried to shape, remove then glue in a second operation? If the former is there a glue suitable...

    weeds in block paving

Using pathclear alternate months from March to October will poison the sand/soil between the paviours and prevent any seeds germinating. Do not replace the sand with mortar it will eventually crack, and be impossible to maintain or treat in the future.

    Glueing wet wood.

I wish to glue and pin a steam bent hardwood edging strip to serpentine shaped outdoor decking. Given current temperatures and dampness, and obviously the wet wood, can anyone suggest a suitable adhesive?
