Sounds the same but is it possible to source and fit the strainer/waste outlet with one that doesnt't have that hidden area that cannot be easily cleaned?
Hi,
Was thinking of blanking the sink overflow. I have used a whole bottle of domestos but it doesn't quite get to where its needed, I have bought a syringe and tubing and will give it a try but a simple waste would be preferable which doesn't have that hard to clean area if one exists.
Hi,
We have a Blanco stainless kitchen sink which has an overflow feeding back to the outlet which is constantly getting black, both in the overflow pipe and the area below the plug. The sink also has a small half bowl, this doesn't have an overflow but the drain has what looks the same as...
Thanks, will try again with a new float valve.
I was going to do this but read that a poster noted a leaking mixer causing a back flow issue as I had when not in use (like me being away).
It's been a while.. What type of seal do I need between the nut from the outlet pipe and the thread for he...
Hi doitall,
To clarify, the boiler is a Remeha Avanta 24S system boiler with a header tank for the immersion tank in a bedroom.
I have not noticed any issues regarding this other than explained, even with the old boiler with the extra header in the loft.
I really do think that I have...
Again, thanks.
The boiler is a system boiler and the issue started before fitting the new pressurised one.
Please forgive my naivety, I thought that the hot water tank had one outlet feeding all hot taps and therefore fitting one at the outlet would protect all of them rather than one per...
Thanks for the replies.
I was intending to put the valve on the hot water outlet, therefore only needing 1 rather than each of the taps. Is that okay?
How can I tell if the coils has gone? Would there be CH inhibitor leaking into the hot supply from the radiator side of the system?
Hi,
Back home from a 3 day break to see the cylinder header tank outlet pipe dripping at approx 2 drops per second over the front door canopy.
This has happened before and previuosly, I replaced the float valve and attended to the replacement once more. However, thinking that they were...
Thanks for replies. The works was non invasive (paving) and well away from the cable. The grinder kept tripping, now no power at all but not managed to check supply yet as no meter until tomorrow... As it is notifiable may just call a sparky in and save time.
As it is not normal to damage a pd...
Hi hopefully someone may be able to oofer some advice regarding a faulty Contactum Metal supply that has been installed in our shed.
A little history....... We have a 10 way split load unit in the kithchen which has an RCD for one side of the box. The shed is wired from the RCD side with SWA...
We have a garden shed fed from the house with SWA cable to an RCD and MCB box. This then feeds an internal light and 2 sockets.
There is a second run of SWA which connects via a metal box for Earth to a small run of flex on and a plug which powers an external plastic box. The external box is...
I thought TRV's regulated the temp, so once set, they would adjust the flow to suit and not overheat the room when the external temp rises.
I can understand a rad not getting enough heat, hence the room does not heat properly.
Hi,
We have a Remeha system boiler in the kitchen extension, with a Honeywell CM927 managing the temp with the the sensor in the extension as that's the coldest room. That works well, no problems.
However, some of the rads were changed and also had TRV's fitted (Pegler Bulldogs). It seems...
