    Honda mower seized up

Jeez. That's as much as a new engine! This machine is 26 years old, so time for a new one! Thanks for all the help.

    Honda mower seized up

OK, so I have probably knackered the clutch, but the question is - how do I get access to the clutch. Is it by removing the rear roller, or do I try from behind the engine?

    Honda mower seized up

I believe this is a shaft-drive. It has a strange clutch. After pushing up the drive lever you have to push the machine forward before it will engage and power the roller. So with the drive lever down the roller should be free whether or not the engine is running. I can't see how you get in...

    Honda mower seized up

I only see this machine a couple of times a week. I removed the recoil unit and the spark plug and was able to rotate the engine with a spanner on the crankshaft nut. No sign of metal filings in the oil. reassembled and the motor started but after a few seconds ground to a halt again. This...

    Honda mower seized up

I can see the cable end move when the 'engage rotor' lever is moved. The rotor frees up to rotate about 180 degrees before it meets resistance - presumably the clutch mechanism. The starter pull is solid. Air filter and spark plug were renewed during its winter service, along with the oil...

    Honda mower seized up

Nothing jamming the rotor. Engine has cooled down but still seized. Guess it is a new engine or mower. Thanks for your help.

    Honda mower seized up

I checked it just before I started. It was OK then. I am away from the mower now so can't check it yet. It does feel like a seized engine.

    Honda mower seized up

Honda hr1950 mower started squeaking then suddenly degenerated as if something has seized or the safety brake has come on when the engine is still at full revs. It stopped the engine whilst in hare mode.

NEFF U1721 Fan Oven replacing Element

Thanks for that. Pity the oven is a low-level one. It is hard to think straight when you are scrabbling around on the floor with your weight on your elbows and head in the oven :-)

NEFF U1721 Fan Oven replacing Element

Aha! It is a left-hand thread. I was tightening the nut instead of loosening it. Now, any tips on how to get the fan off the spindle? It seems to be corroded onto it.

NEFF U1721 Fan Oven replacing Element

My NEFF U1721N0GB/02 fan oven element needs replacing. There are three screws holding it. Two are visible, the third is hiding behind the fan. The nut in the centre of the fan seems stuck. It isn't a left-hand thread or anything is it? I don't want to force it.

    Lawn Mower Drive Problem

The model is a QX. I was amazed to see that the year of manufacture is 1993 - it is in very good condition - bright chrome on the handles, smart paint, and very clean control cables and adjusters. Are spares still readily available?

    Lawn Mower Drive Problem

I have been given a Honda HR1950 Lawn Mower with a roller at the rear. The engine works fine. The rotory cutting mechanism works fine, but the roller drive clutch just doesn't engage. I can see the clutch cable linkage moving, and between the engine (gearbox?) and the roller I can see a...

Fitting Doors on replacement integrated fridge freezer

After a sleepless night I think I got it sussed. The sliders fit on the unit door and the angle bracket is screwed to the front edge of the fridge/freezer door (for some reason I thought it was the other way round and couldn't figure out how to fit the brackets). It is unfortunate that the...

Fitting Doors on replacement integrated fridge freezer

Help! I'm a newbie and quite naive! We had a NEFF Fridge Freezer which broke down. Estimated repair costs were as much as a new one. We purchased a Hotpoint as a replacement. On the NEFF the unit doors were hung directly onto the fridge freezer doors which had cantelevered hinges. I...
