    Asbestos fascia

Sorry I will see if I can get some better ones tomorrow. This is the only other one I have. It’s the material with the arrow pointing at it that I’m wondering about

    Asbestos fascia

Cheers both of you for the replies. What do you reckon that fascia material could be? It looks a bit like cement board to me but I didn’t realise that was used for fascias. The soffits are pvc so looks like something has been done at some point, but I’m not sure what

    Asbestos fascia

Hi all We had some work done by a roofer last year. One of the things he did was to trim down our fascia boards as they obstructed our upstairs windows from opening. The work was done with a circular saw which created a lot of dust. The windows were closed but could still smell the dust in...

    New boiler considerations/advice

Ok, I have a bit more info to share. I've just run both showers simultaneously at normal temp and the water meter showed 13L/min. I think some of the bigger combis from Vaillant and Worcester should be able to handle that if I understand correctly?

    New boiler considerations/advice

Thanks Muggles, that helps a lot. I've done the same test this morning by opening up the cold tap on the bath to full power. I got the same flow rate of 20L/min when doing that. The same test on the cold kitchen tap gave a result of about 13L/min. Would it be better to run both showers...

    New boiler considerations/advice

Hi everyone Apologies for the long post, and thanks for reading. I'm probably going to be getting a replacement boiler soon. I've always found these forums really helpful, and as it's such an expensive purchase, I was hoping to get some opinions from people on here about what will or won't...

Boiler pressure loss through condensate pipe?

I don’t think any solution will be cheap at this point so I’m willing to give it a try! PH test could also work. We’ve got a PH test kit from setting up our fish tank so may be worth a shot. I looked into the fixed price repair but it doesn’t cover heat exchanger unfortunately.

Boiler pressure loss through condensate pipe?

I can’t remember to be honest, I’ll need to run the test again. I’ll aim for about 12 hours next time, so will have to find the right time in the next couple of weeks. What I can say is there was almost nothing in the bucket after the first hour, and that quantity built up steadily over the 4...

Boiler pressure loss through condensate pipe?

I switched the boiler off this morning and increased pressure to around 2 bar. Put a bucket under the condensate pipe and saw this about 4 hours later. I checked after an hour and there were just a few drops so it’s definitely something that was continuing while the boiler was off.

Boiler pressure loss through condensate pipe?

Brilliant, thank you Ian. I'll give that a go tomorrow. Just out of interest, does the corrosion in the water sound unusual?

Boiler pressure loss through condensate pipe?

Hi all I'm looking for some advice with a pressure loss issue that has been driving me mad for a while! It's on my vaillant 637 ecotec boiler, which is losing about 0.5-0.7 bar of pressure per day at present. Just to be clear - I am not a professional so will not be attempting to do any work...

    Vaillant Boiler F2.2
