Thanks for your reply. Definitely have gas. As I say it ignites and stays on for around 5 seconds before going off. It then attempts several times - with it igniting each time. All the noises seem to be as usual. Don't want to spend too much money on it - Especially if the likely fault is...

Thanks for your reply. That was my thoughts, but I was thinking it might just be something simple - like the carbon brushes or element. Worth a shot first before scrapping it if anyone has any ideas.
