    Side extension - how?

Hello! I've been playing on Paint Shop and built a side extension fairly easily. :) If only real life was as easy. My house is on a slope and the only house around here where the garage is at a lower level than the house, which is annoying as many others have been able to extend into theirs...

Garage Conversion - with 1.2m ground level difference

    Brill, thanks chaps.

Garage Conversion - with 1.2m ground level difference

I'll have to do that anyway I reckon - because as it stands, when we get sustained, heavy rain, water pours down the insides of the garage wall!

Garage Conversion - with 1.2m ground level difference

No, this is to bring the extension up to the level of the main house... Raising the garage in effect (garage roof would end up being 1.2m higher after)

Garage Conversion - with 1.2m ground level difference

We'd like to convert our garage and then extend into it. Other houses in the street have done similar - however ours seems to be the only house where the garage is at a much lower level than the house because it's on a hill. The difference in height is around 1.2m. I've done a very crude...

Unvented Cylinder - Discharge pipe position

Ok, so he's now got himself a lawyer. I thought I'd heard the last of it! Letter arrived today. It also contains 4 photos from the time the discharge pipe, erm, discharged: 1. Pic of small puddle at the entrance to his garage. 2. Pic of wet area outside his garage (2ft approx). 3. Pic...

Unvented Cylinder - Discharge pipe position

Thanks. That's pretty much what I said, except I did it by knocking on his door. I said; "get yourself a lawyer, and I'll get a better one." :)

Unvented Cylinder - Discharge pipe position

I know, it's total madness to me. He's a real busy body with too much time on his hands. What I really feel like doing this evening is ripping his letter to bits and posting it through his letter box.

Unvented Cylinder - Discharge pipe position

Thanks for your replies, very helpful. If the copper pipe was re-routed to run over to the existing white drainpipe, or in the other direction and around the back corner of my house before heading downward, do you think that would be argument proof? Thanks again.

Unvented Cylinder - Discharge pipe position

Thanks. What about the existing white drain pipe though? That's in a similar position. One of his other arguments was that if he were to try and sell his house, the pipe would cause trouble at the time of survey? Also, he argued that if he wanted to bring his garage forward, he couldn't...

Unvented Cylinder - Discharge pipe position

Arrived home to a snotty letter from my neighbour this evening. I live in a link-detached house, with my garage to the right of the property and my neighbours' garage to the left. (Please see pics for details) In August 2008 I had an unvented cylinder installed in the airing cupboard...

Bed shakes in new loft conversion when windy

I have the certificate now... received it about 2 years after the work was done after a lot of pushing. So, all I want to know is that if changes are required, do I need to pay for them or do I have some recourse?

Bed shakes in new loft conversion when windy

Sorry - me again! Bedroom is still shaking in the wind. I want to get it sorted out. What I want to know is, if I get a structural engineer round to check it out and it is discovered that the conversion is dangerous, do I have any rights against either the building control company who...
