It appears ok. The majority of the outside is pebble dashed that has been painted over. The lower parts of the house (the damp proofing bit) is flat and that has a few bits of bubbled paint on it so i know id have to brush that off first.

I know you can mask the skirting/coving before painting a wall but am just wondering about those paint guards you can buy. Do they work or is it better for me to mask? Or is it just a case of personal preference?

I am wanting to apply a nice new white coat of gloss to all the wood work in my house (the current colour is a magnolia gloss that the old owners painted it)
What i want to know is what would be the best grade Sandpaper to use to rub the old woodwork down to allow me to gloss over the top? and...
What i mean by that is does is really dry brilliant white and stay white?
