    I've got loads of little nails and pins in the floorboards and staircase that I want to remove without damaging the wood too much. I've got a little pry bar thing and some nail pincers but take quite a lot of time and can damage the wood a fair bit, is there a better tool to have for doing...

    why not seal it with concrete sealer to stop it dusting and then paint it. 4mm deflection is pretty flat

    we have a 2.4m wide folding sliding door. I'm looking at putting some sort of clear perspex canopy over it to help protect it a bit from the weather. Hs anyone got any advise/ideas/links/have something similar? All the stuff I've seen on the web is for a single door Thanks Jim

    I've got my shower and bath waste on the same pipe. The pipe is currently 1.5" but I am upgrading this to 2". The pipe runs from the shower, after 1 meter the bath waste joins it, another meter and there is a 90 degree bend and then it runs for 2.5 meters out of the wall and into the soil...

    There is a partition wall in our 1903 victorian semi-detached house that is approx 2" thick and appears to be made of compressed straw and plaster blocks. I am about to start removing this wall and I am a bit concerened that it might contain some nasties eg asbestos. Anyone familiar with this...

    Using caulk on the top of the skirting but should I use something else more robust between UFH porcelain tiles and the bottom of the skirting: frame sealant, silicone, something else or is caulk good enough for the job? Thanks

    if its just one or 2 boards that are springy then try screwing the boards down better with flooring screws. What thickness are the boards (chipboard from the look of it)? if its only 18mm I would suggest the boards aren't thick enough for the job. Personally I wouldn't want a chipboard floor...

    measure the joists and the span. I would guess they aren't big enough for the weight on them
