What is it, and is it important?

Thanks fidom. The piece of metal that I extracted from between the inner and outer drum was a drilled sheet, about 1mm thick, and reasonably sturdy - it would be hard to bend with fingers. The holes are about 2mm in diameter, and about the same again apart. There were two seperate pieces...

Yep, that's the beastie! Cheers for that .... looks to be an easy enough job to replace? Thanks. L

What is it, and is it important?

My Indesit WIDL126 washing-machine has been making a helluva noise for months now. I managed to remove a large chunk of metal from between the inner and outer drums by pulling it through the hole for what I think is the the temperture sensor - a round plastic thing about 2cm across, held in...

ANYTHING BUT WHITE! Surface mounted boxes

Have moved into old flat, and light switches and sockets are all surface mounted boxes with lath and plaster walls. Not particularly minded to be replacing everything with flush, with all the hassle of cutting holes in lath and plaster (and ending up with a bunch of repairs). But will be...

All true, guys, all true. However, lets suppose for the purposes of my installation I wanted to buy a larger sheet (and let me deal with the support issue), can I buy one anywhere?

Need larger sheet MDF grille - anyone help?

Hi, I'm looking for a decorative MDF grille for the back of a cabinet. I can find any number of patterns and finishes online, but they are all 1830mm x 610mm sheets. The space I need filled is 1600mm x 1000mm, so I'd need to join two sheets to fit, which I don't imagine would be either easy...

    Stripped floor leaking resin

Hi, I recently lifted carpet, and found the T+G floorboards below to be in good condition - flat, tight and even, with none of them ever having been lifted. So decided to sand them down (including the finish of old varnish) and re-varnish. They're not old - late 1960's I'd guess - but by no...

    Help Please: Anyone Recognise This?

Kitchen refurb. Have added extra units, and managed to get a very good match for existing doors and handles. Unfortunately, the supplied top cupboard-cornice is square profile. I need cornice to match the existing. Does anyone recognise it, and where I might get 3m or so? Life's too short to...

Unfortunately, the lady's not for turning. Watch this space for final resolution. Regarding water penetration into the bottom edge from the floor.... I'll Evo-Stik a melanine edging strip onto the bottom edge, and put a wee bead of silicone along the angle once fitted. Should cover it.

    "Vertical mitre" on kitchen worktop.

Ooh yeah.... never thought of that! (DOH!) I think Symptoms idea sounds better.... what would be even better would be to dissuade her from the whole concept! I think the offcut will probably get < ... ahem ... > "damaged" when cutting..... I'm sure it'll get a nasty deep scratch on it during...
