    DHW Secondary return design

Hi Anyone help and advise on the best option for a DHW secondary circulation (SC) layout. Scenario 1 I need to install SC in a large new build. The unvented cylinder will be in the middle of the house and so I would like to have two SC ‘loops’ i.e. T off the hot from the cylinder and go...

When is a boundary not a boundary?

I wouldn’t stick my neck out and condemn anything in CP12 purely on boundary distances. It’s not a gas safety issue so not relevant. It’s a building control issue. Unless of course the plume is affecting other people.

When is a boundary not a boundary?

Thanks. However, I see slot of people doing 90mph on the motorway that doesn’t mean the speed limit is 90. If you catch my drift. Anyone know the official line? I suspect the consensus would be a practical approach to this. So maybe terminating on the ground floor over the boundary is a not...

When is a boundary not a boundary?

When is a boundary not a boundary? If directly below the external wall of a property is the pavement i.e. end of Terrace, I dare to presume you can’t terminate over the pavement as you have to be 600mm from a boundary. What’s the scenario if you are intending to locate the boiler on the first...

    White of flues showing

When I spoke to Baxi they suggested as already mentioned taping the last 3 inch was acceptable. Baxi said their flue has a ring approximately 3 inches back from the terminal and many people had mistakably considered this where the rubber collar should sit and hence white would be showing and so...

    White of flues showing

I have never actually seen the UV rationale written down in any MI’s I was verbally told that over the phone from Ideal (I think!). In fact as I said previously I’ve only actually seen the ‘no white showing’ in one MI’s despite numerous others not allowing it . I rang Worcester today to confirm...

    White of flues showing

To add further I have only actually read white must not be showing in one MI and I think that was intergas. Frustrating really as if all the other companies don’t allow it, it should be stated in the MI’s. If people have read it others I’d be curious to know which?

    White of flues showing

Steve32 - the balcony kit won’t work in my scenario as the air intake would still be too close (less than 300mm) to the top of the wall below. It would only be 50mm max above the wall. See photo below the tape measure roughly represents where the flue would come out which is too close to the...

    White of flues showing

A number of boiler companies do not allow the white section of a flue to be showing at the terminal as that bit in not UV tested. In fact I am only aware of Worcester allowing it. Anyone know which other manufactures allow white showing? I have a tricky install where I have to project the...
